We keep Our Iowa City intentionally selective. If your business is independently owned, distinctive, and right for the guide, send it in for editorial review as part of the founding collection.
What happens next
- We review local ownership, category fit, and current placement availability.
- If there is a fit, we follow up directly by email with the next step, placement details, and any questions needed to shape the profile well.
- The guide is capped at 25 featured businesses citywide, so not every application is published.

- A polished business profile with sharper editorial copy and clear essentials
- Placement inside the right category and featured collections
- Consideration for homepage, newsletter, story, and seasonal feature inclusion when there is a fit
- Verified business details, links, and imagery
