At Close House in Iowa City, Public Space One’s Free Art Supplies program gives donated materials another project. Supplies are free during open hours and events at 538 S. Gilbert Street, with no age or income requirements.
The inventory changes because it depends on donations. Public Space One accepts new and gently used conventional art supplies, while asking donors not to contribute damaged, mostly spent, or unusable materials.
Close House hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 5–7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. The space has an east entrance ramp and a first-floor accessible bathroom.
